NEW BOW - my first Hickory Selfbow
« on: November 05, 2009, 06:10:55 pm »
Hello from Germany,

A few months ago I promised to presented my first Selfbow here.

Remember?

OK, here are my first Hickory Bow „Indian Summer“
This Bow is 61” ntn
52# @ 27“
The back is stained in brown and then in Indian Summer colours (red, orange and brown),
 Antler Tip overlays
The limbs are 1,74” wide at FA and 0,52” at the Tips, tapering  to 0,31” at the  tips and 0,63” at the handle
The handle is fattened up at the back with cork, the handle wrap is Fawnleather ( is that the correct name?)

Here are some Pics

Great bow. Isn't hickory a good wood to work with? You have a right to be proud.

now that is a beautiful bow!  Great tiller, and I LOVE the stain pattern.  Kinda looks like blood spatter from using it to smash in the head of a crooked politician....  :)  I LOVE IT!
