A couple I didn't drop.
« on: November 02, 2009, 10:39:24 pm »
Thought I'd chip a while this evening.  Only broke one, but it wasn't because I dropped it.  I hit end on the end and didn't have it supported well enough and it just fell in half >:(
These two made it though.  The turkey tail is kinda rough, but I'm happy with the knife blade.  I'm gonna haft it up and hopefully use it in a few days.

Steve, It seems almost impossible for me to make a clean, thin point. Turkey tails give me fits. Two months ago I would have destroyed that point trying to clean that up. Lately I just let it go.  Rock goes a lot farther when you learn to tolerate stuff like that.  It helps to look at my authentic ones that are full of steps, hinges and stacks too.

Those are some dandies Shannon! That blade looks almost kinda really close to a fog ;D. Some nice pressure work there for sure. That old G-town is hard to beat ain't it 8).

Paul, that stuff's so good you could almost sell it as "self knapping" rock. It'll do exactly what you tell it too.  Sometimes I just tell it the wrong thing. ::)
