Yet another tiller check request

      This is the 80" red maple bow I'm working on. The left limb looks weaker, but you see anthing else?

Kind of hard to tell from the pic. Is it still on the long string ? Have you braced it yet ?

Tiller looks real good but as John said I would get it on a short string before going any farther. Also if you can get it on a better background that will help the visual.

hard to tell but i think you are right on the left side. short string will change the look. post new pics when youcan.

A little trick that Pappy saw someone do during our last Classic and then he passed it along to me this past weekend...I used it yesterday.

When on the tillering board you can take an additional string with a loop on one end and simulate the bow at brace height. Then it is a simple matter to use a ruler and measure perpendicular to that string up to the belly and compare the two limbs. I did this yesterday instead of only relying on my eye as before. Using this method the bow was almost dead even between the limbs when I low braced it the first time. Just another little tool to place in your tillering arsenal as an option.

Looks pretty good to me also,maybe a little stiff on the right limb.Looks about ready for a low
brace.

RH limb looks a bit stiff starting right about where that roof brace is. I'll second the advice to brace it. You got a tillering gizmo?
