Hunting rig for this year

I always love to look at pics of everyones hunting rig for the season.  I mean Bow Arrows Broad Heads and Quiver.  All in one picture they are so inspirational.  So give it up, I will post my whitetail rig for this year tomorrow.

Her is my basic hunting rig for a lot of places I hunt. Treestand, cat quiver, osage bow and deer cart.

This was my hunting set up for last year...



Unfortunately this was my bow for this year...



...so I'm using the yew self bow(not the recurve) in the top pic. 47#@26", and here are my arrows for this year...

Hey, now theres the trick! that little hand cart is the cat"s whiskers! I have several derelect bicycles that I bet I could make a great cart out of!

This is a yew bow made from a set of billets I purchased about 13 years ago from Northwest Archery.  Finally got to them last winter.  68in ntn 65ish @ 26in silk backed then dyed with dall sheep tip overlays.

Pat, I think that bow explosion must have been more violent then the memorial bow. I think I see 6 pieces, with the smallest being a couple inches or so long. I think with a little glue and sinew and maybe some rawhide you ought to be able to revive that ole gal! ;D

Well, maybe enough to put on the wall... ;)

56# osage darkened with permanganate, doug fir shafts I bought and re-fletched with reflective  3 rivers cap wraps,(not very oldschool, but maybe next year) wensel woodsman broadheads and one of Manny's "tarantula" heads with woodscrew for that bushytaill that won't shut up.. >:D Quiver(not shown) is an old bear clip-on slid inside a camo handwarmer muff - very quiet and easy to adjust for different carrying / hanging situations.
BTW, the tarantula head flies and gives you a similar sight picture as a WW, so they're great for practicing.

Man those bows make me drool Pappy, the arrows ain,t half bad either.  Something about getting ready for the season by crafting new equipment makes this seem so much more fun.  Good Luck
