A little Hickory Pyramid Action
« on: October 08, 2009, 08:15:12 pm »
I really struggled with some funky reflex off the fade on the bottom limb. It's always that one limb, right? It makes the brace look a little odd but this was about all that I could do with it. I'm pretty sure this is butternut hickory, very little heartwood from a quarter split that I cut back in the spring. The bow is 64'' NTN pulling 65 lbs. weighing 21 oz.. The bow is finished with amber shellac with a linen wrap handle. Nothing fancy at all but I like'em that way. Here's a few pictures.

That is a thing of beauty. Ofcourse I am partial to Hickory. Regardless of what it's made of it is a work of art.

If you don't mind. What are the widths at the widest and narrowest points? Fades and Knocks.

Thanks guys for the nice compliments.

I'm pulling this bow to 28'', forgot to post at the top.

Rob:
I don't mind at all. The bow is just under 1 3/4 at the fades with a straight taper to 7/16 at the tips.

Love it reminds me of the old hickory bows that used to be sold :)
