Hello,

I made a lot of ash bows out of european ash, mostly flatbows and they work fine, love the wood  :D From time to time I make an ELB style ash bow for medieval guys who want a cheaper bow than the more expensive yew ELBs  :) I make them a tiny bit wider than the yew ELBs and also not as high crowned on the belly, kinda flatish oval. Heat treating helps a lot against string follow. The strongst so far was about 90 pouds at 32 inches but I plan stronger ones. Wood quality is critical, only the best and densest ash is able to take the stress of this 'normally wrong' design for ash...
