Mike, that's all I use for deer and hogs.I make mine from band-saw and circ. saw blades.I cut the band saw blades 3 1/2 " long,1" of that is straight tang the width of the arrow shaft,then a 1 1/2" wide by 2 1/2" long triangular point that'll give a a weight a tad over 150 gr.. I usually build the circ. saw blade a little smaller to get the same weight.if it ends up a little heavy I serrate the blade with a triangular file.Both of these points I temper by heating cherry red,then quench in motor oil.Good huntin' to you this season.Oh,by the way,Mike is right,your points are not legal for deer in Texas,they need to be a minimum of 7/8th ".
