Osiyo!!
I luv this part of the site you guys are so  talented!!
I was wondering whats the best way to cut antler to mount a flint knife blade. Will a hacksaw work?
What kind of adhesive do you guys use. I might use this knife so whats durable.

I use homeade pine pitch glue to mount mine. If all alse fails you can always use epoxy.  As far as cutting the horn, use what works best for you. I have used a hacksaw, bandsaw, drills, and files. Don'tget to wrap it with sinew after glueing.
Good luck and post pics when done.

Before I had a bandsaw I used a hacksaw and files to make the slot fit tight. If you want it to fit real tight, cut the slot close and then boil it real good. Then put the blade in and lightly clamp. Squeezing it gently untill it is tight and  cools down, then glue and wrap it with sinew.

I either glue it with epoxy or TB3 and then cover it with pitch, look's authenic and holds better. ;)

You can soak it in water for three or four days.  The bigger the antler, the longer you need to soak it.  It will get pretty soft, and can easily be worked with stone tools.  It will also smell like dead meat, the smell will go away as soon as it dries out.  Bill
