Got a box of goodies today...
« on: August 26, 2009, 03:14:39 pm »
Thought you guys would like to see this. im doing a trade with somebody, and it was originally going to be a couple of flutes (cause thats about my only redeeming talent) for a few stone points to hunt with this fall. well i got my box in the mail today and knappers being what they are, i got 6 points, 8 bifaces, 33 flakes for pressure flaking, and 5 bigger slabs of rock! im still pretty ignorant when it comes to knapping (point styles, corect names for things and such) but with all this material, i hope to change that! by the way, i never knew stone points could be this SHARP!

the other purpose of this post is to show yall my buckskin hunting shirt that i finnally finished. ill get some better pics of that and post it in the anything else forum.

but anyhow, here ya go! now i gotta get going on thoes cane arrows!

He might be thinking the same of your flutes.  He did you right for sure, but my experience is that he is a good guy all the way.
Nice shirt too.  It looks great!  How long did it take to make and how many hides did it require?

Yeah, i think im the one that made out to  the better!

the shirt took me about a week to make. i hand stitched it with artificial sinew. one hide for each sleave, one for the front and one for the back. pluss scrapps for the gussets on the side, and the triangle thing at the neck. i still have to make my quilled medicine wheel for it though.

the part that took the longest was the fringe...i hate makin fringe... :P

Nice napping materials and points but I like your shirt especially. Will you do a post about it with some more speciffic info like material used(brain tanned or commercial) and where to get a pattern?  thanks
