Wow, those are some nice points Pappy.  Do you mind if I ask what thickness of steel you cut them out of and where you get it?

Double ,And I cut the sides with a chainsaw file ,to give grip for the sinew wrapping . Like on this one I modded into a fishin' point.

I made some a few years ago from a cheap circular saw blade.  The cost worked out to 11 cents per head.  Got to use them on a couple of whitetails.  The head used on the deer in the first pic nicked the leg bone going in and lodged in the middle of the far leg bone.  The arrow broke off, but I found the head when butchering.  I had to use both hands on a pair of heavy channel lock pliers to remove it.

I also bought or traded for some that look identical to Ralph's that I've used on deer as well.  I use stainless orthodontic wire and epoxy to haft them to the shaft.

Thanks guys ,We stamp them out of 16 gauge steel .they weigh right at 200 grains . I have some heavier ,but a lot of guys want to trade for some lighter ones .So I'm trying to come up with a thinner one . I do like the heavier thicker points myself .

Made up some of these from a saw mill blade  and really like them. Made them as per the Ashby study recomendations, they weigh close to 300 grains.     Kenneth
