yeah hillbilly, those are gator gar. just verry small one's. i havnt seen the vid yet but i will go find it.

lol. i hear ya! i tride it once but i couldnt hit squat. actually just got back from shooting at them with a bow, cant hit them with that either.

Here's a red oak board that I just finished. I had some hackberry laying around that I was going to make into turkey calls, so I threw some on the lathe for the reel. I have had it out a couple of times, but the carp aren't cooperating

Thanks, it's not that pretty now after having been shot a few times. I've had several requests for them. They really need to be a little bigger in diameter and a little deeper. If I get my hands on some nice wood I might try to make some this winter.

Ironhead, that is one awesome looking reel. I've been trying to think of how I could make one from wood. Not having a lathe or the skill to use one I figured it to be way too time consuming. I might could make a bow in the time it would take to make the reel. haha But, now that I've seen your design and how you attach it to the bow, I might have to try.
