Two fletch "TsaLaGi" (Cherokee) arrows
« on: July 14, 2009, 06:47:03 pm »
oSiYo,(Hello)
Here are a few more TsaLaGi GaTliDa (Cherokee arrows) I made up.
Im hoping to take a deer this fall with a completely primitive TsaLaGi (Cherokee) setup.
Here are 3 of the 12 arrows i made to get ready for fall. These are fletched with Grey goose feathers,i have 1 more to make with goose feathers. The next four arrows will be fletched with turkey tail feathers, then  ill make four more with turkey wing feathers.
What do you guys think.
WaDo,(thanks)

I love the way you got the goose feather to lay flat.  Are they wing or tail feathers?

nice arrows. I just fletched one the same way but with turkey tail and I love the way it flys. I might just start doing all my personnal arrows this way. It uses less resources and is just as effective and makes very distinctive arrows.

I agree John they fly very well.
I have to admit i was suprised the 1st time i shot an arrow with this fletching. I really did'nt think it would work.
I dont know why though, If it did'nt work my people would have never adopted this style. lol

Good looking arrows. Did you knap the points, too?

With a nice whitetail shed and a belt sander and a saw you can make all the tools you need in a few minutes time

I hope you kill more than one deer this year my friend. I am so happy to see so many here returning to the old ways.

oSiYo John
I have never killed a deer before so 1 sounds great to me!! lol
I'll take as many deer as the good Lord will send my way though ...as long as its with in legal limits..lol
I want my first deer to be a primitive kill like my ancient ancestors would have done it. That would make it it so much more special.
