New Dacite Points
« on: July 02, 2009, 01:25:38 am »
I seem to be on a bird point kick here lately.  I just like making them.  I got a box of dacite in the mail today and since I had just cleaned up the mess in the building from the other points, I decided to make another.  In between sessions of explaining to Montana why he should not beat the crap out of the obsidian he was working with, I flaked these out.  Since the dacite came from Oregon, I tried some points found there.

There is a difference between setting up platforms, running thinning flakes, etc. and just setting there wailing on it.

madcow couldn't that cause fractures in the glass? just a thought, not much of a scientist but it seems logical. However what seems logical to me is most always a coin toss.. :-\

I like that dacite. Where did you get it? I might have to try and get some of that.

Those look good man! Keep on knappin - I'm hoping to load up some dacite in about a month.
