Another father's day bow

I know it's father's day has already passed but my dad left for a business trip in cali for the week and I hadn't finished it yet. This is a lot of firsts for me. First bow I've posted, first bow from a stave I cut myself, and first time I've done a recurve. I'm pretty happy with how it came out although I feel the tiller could be better. Approximately 50# @ 28", 65" long. It's certainly the fastest bow I've made. Still needs a handle wrap and some other touch ups. Thanks.

Probably. I don't think he will be able to draw it all the way as it is since he has never really shot a bow so I'll let him work on it with the brace low and bring it up later for him. He will probably need an arm guard though.

Nice job.  I would bring the brace up start with.  Your tiller ain't too bad, the upper limb looks stiffer.  If you haven't set which limb is top and bottom, try turning the bow over.  It's worth a try.

Its hickory. I already put an arrow rest on it and it would suck to try and remove it. If I really wanted to I could just try and take that limb down a bit to match the lower one. Its only finished with teak oil. Thanks for the comments by the way.

Your dad should be very pleased with such a fine gift. I'm with the rest brace it at a proper height as the bow will shoot better :)

So I took a little off the top limb so it turned out pretty even with the tiller and I also braced it a little higher. Thanks for the comments. My dad is coming home today so I'll be giving it to him today.
