Knife blades
« on: June 24, 2009, 09:30:50 am »
I've been in the knife making mode lately whenever the shop/shed is below 100 degrees. Here's some recent blades ,from the left
6" texas toad sticker ,button based ledge material out of a Tampa river,Good ol' Pinhead coral and some Georgia Flint River

This pinhead blade will make a dandy knife, undecided on type of handle for this one

The photo doesn't show the pearlesence of this point,I'd love to have a bucket of this stuff

I'll post some shots of these when I get them finished

very nice.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intentions of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body. But rather to slide in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW WHAT A RIDE!!

Nice looking blades, Roger. I've never seen Ledge that color. Was it grainy? I'm still hoarding my Pinhead.

Maybe I'm wrong on the ledge ID.It's some I got off of Rick S. at Dade knapp in.I thought it came out of the Alifi river. It's black outside white inside ,I had to heat it to work it.Eddie you might have a better idea what it is.

Ahh,, It's Alifia coral, Anytime you want to get some, I know where it's at. It is real sweet heated. Ledge is smokey black or grainey gray.
