Grunt, I believe most cresting is a personal thing either denoting spine or weight or a personal ID.
I don't know what that particular cresting pattern means.

I too am Child of the Vietnam Era...I lost Neighbors ...Older Relatives and a Best Friends Brother to the War...but the Draft was done away with by Nixon in June of 1973...so I was too Young to be Drafted....and Nixon signed a Peace Accord in Paris on the 27th of January 1973 to end American involvement in the War and by the time I was old enough to Serve....the Government would not take anyone else for Service in the War....by  the time of the Fall of Saigon in 1975 (when my Best Friends Brother died) The war had taken nearly 4 million Vietnamese from both sides, 1.5 to 2 million Laotians and Cambodians, and 58,159 U.S. soldiers....Vietnam may have been the Last Big War and the Least amount of Casualties the World suffered that We ( U.S.A.)were involved in....but I think that it will be the Most Remembered War of all times due to the events during and after the War ended...God Bless all of Our Servicemen that have Served...and Will Serve in the Future.......I gotta go to Bed....or I am going to keep rambling on!!

I served with the 1st Bn 9th Marines, the Walking Dead ,over 42 years ago and the memories are as fresh as if it were yesterday. NA culture honors their warriors every single day and I suppose thats what draws me to their view of life. Bows and the things that go with them are the logical outcome. Maybe we can get some Iraq and Afgan warriors to crest their arrows with their battle ribbon colors.

Oh yes... memories as fresh as yesterday.  That has been a long time ago for me though... Bien Hoa Air Base 1966-1967, then back again in the mid-70's.  A lot of my friends never made it back.  Great cresting !!!
