Help with wood ID

I was hunting today and ran into this tree, but I dont know what type of tree it is. I would like to get relatively close to finding out what it might be. I only have one photo of the bark and some of the leaves. There were no flowers or seeds that I found.  So if you could do your best and help me out I would highly appreciate it. Thanks so much for your time, John.

Where are you located? Was this tree found in the wild or was it possibly a cultivated variety?

hey pat,i am in central Oregon...and the trees are on fence lines around privet property...i haven't seen any out in the wild yet...john

i all so want to add that it usually grows along farm lands...and that i have cut a small piece 4 yrs ago and it was a yellow color inside and it had wide growth rings...

looks like a type of wild cherry to me but the bark throws me off.

I don't think the bark is right for persimmon, maybe some variety of cherry but the bark doesn't match our wild cherry trees here locally.

well i might have it...i think its common chokecherry...the leaves are the same and the bark is all most the same...and i all ways see it growing along fences...and that would tell me that birds are eating in other trees and sitting on the fences and crapping all the seeds out.john

well if i am right now i need too find some info on what would be a good profile for this wood...i hope its a wide limb sucker...i love those..john
