Ryan, that looks like a missle launcher, for sure. I have a load of Ipe I need to get cranking on. I really like that wood.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

I remember when folks didn't believe this stuff was real. ;) Not that long ago actually..  Glad to see you are having fun Ryan!, and your bow is looking very fast.

Looks like it's going to be a fine bow when you finish...although what I would expect. You keeping it for yourself?  ;)

Thanks Guys. It does seem like a pretty good combo. I think I'll try a maple core on the next one, just for comparison. I never heard of anyone else using red oak as a core, it was just laying around so I figured I'd give it a Try.

Just finished stitching up the grip on this bow. I'm very happy with the way it came out.  I flipped up the tips a little with a heat gun, to give it that hybrid recurve/longbow look. The draw weight is a little lighter than I first posted, I had to adjust the tiller a little after shoot in because the bottom limb got a little weak on me. But it still shoots as fast as most of my heavier bows anyways. I'll try to take some good pictures to post tomorrow when I have good light.  :)

Greg, I'm planning on making another one just like it, but with a maple core and then maybe one with a cherry core......we'll see.
You know I don't hold on to anything to long......lol.

Wow, very nice.  The bamboo looks really sharp the way you did it.  Nice attention to detail on this bow.
