I eyeball the angle, but I bet if you checked, it always winds up being the angle that it would need at brace. I do draw a center line on the belly so I can "connect the lines" in the middle. Also, I'll flair the top of the groove slightly as it gets closer to the belly, so the string isn't hitting any abrupt edges when you draw.
