Lost Lake
« on: May 24, 2009, 04:18:57 pm »
I found time to do a little more chippin today.  I went through my box and found the ugliest, hockey puck lookinest, fist sized chunk of rock I had, just to practice on.
I very carefully beat the piss out of it and wound up with this little Lost Lake point. ;D  The notches ain't as deep as I wanted them, but that's as far as I could get 'em.

Wade, the reason I never knapped anything but glass, is because I never had anything else. ;)  I know what you mean about snapping ears off. Did that about 10 minutes ago myself. >:(

Nice cross-section. Looks almost like a bevel in the making.

It is beveled Pete. That same point with no bevel would be a Kirk. ;)

Rhyolite ain't bad stuff, I kinda like it :o
The first point I ever made was from some green rhyolite. It was tough stuff. The way I see it the tougher it is, the harder it is for me to break it. ;D
