Thanks Guys, I was lucky enough to be invited to Bearbowman's house this weekend, and I had a really good time. Really,Really nice people and family. any we had a few (I had a few too many) beers last night. We made a mess outta his garage breaking some rock,  I think he had a good time cause when I left he said "thanks for the new addiction". We got up this morning, he helped me with finishing the flemmish string and serving. Also gave me a serving jig. We traded some staves I gave him three Hickory He gave me 2 ash and 4 either red oak or black walnut niether of us knew exactly what it was. Also I gave him some obsidian slabs some copper to make some preassure flakers and let him borrow some knapping dvds and the book "The Art Of Flintknapping" so here is the question What is this wood? and here is some quartz I wanted to find and he knew where to look. My step son calls it Hillbilly Gold. LMAO.

I think we found the motherload of quartz but we didn't have the tools we needed (big shovel and hammer) to get all that we coud've. so of course there will be a second adventure.

I think there will be more than one adventure. I had a great time this weekend.

Did you talk the wife into a pup yet?

Oh, I have to ask, what's up with the shorts. :D

I watched most of the first dvd and went out and started knapping on the obsidian. It's nice to work with.

Now that I see the stave, it looks like the Black Walnut I have hanging on the wall.  And that is an awefully large jug of glue :o .  Gives me a thought, if you built a form, lined it with seran wrap, and poured in the glue, could you make a 20# glue stick bow :D
