Thank You to ALL for all of the kind words...
   I've done a bit more work to them since I posted these pics. I've added some dark brown piping to the unfinished looking top edge. I will post updated pics in the next couple of days and I am still working on a Build-Along thread to post.
 and...  I am making my wife a pair of the Sexy Mocs out of the Rust colored Elk leather... I am almost done with them...
 and...  I'm prepping some turkey wing bones, from my son's first turkey, for a couple of calls...  One for me... One for him... Don't tell him though, it's supposed to be a surprise  ;)

I figure I might as well make the most of my time off while I'm Laid-Off  ::)

Oh...  I almost forgot... there's also a half done board bow sitting on my tiller tree just waiting patiently for me...  Whew

Just read through your build-a-long.  Well done, I was able to follow without difficulty.  I think I might have to try a pair or two after hunting season.

I  def.  want a  pair:)  My  question  is  what  is  the  traction  like;  I  love  mocs  of  all  kinds  but  I  have  never  felt the  bottoms  were  very  good  for traction,  seem  slippery,  esp.  in  some  kinds  of  conditions-what  do  you  thinK?

I'll let you know how the traction is after this coming weekend...  I'll be walking around all weekend at our Renaissance Festival in these and a second pair I just finished this past weekend.

I ended up making two pairs of these... My first pair, pictured here, out of Buffalo and the second pair out of Elk.
The Buffalo worked GREAT!!!  no trouble with traction or stretching, even in damp grass, mud, rain...   
The Elk, on the other hand, stretched out a bit just walking in the fresh, dew covered grass. They didn't stretch out
 to where they were un-wearable... but they did stretch.
If you have a choice between Buffalo and Elk...  Choose Buffalo.

     Talonzz, that is why, buffalo hides were so popular, they were used in Europe, during the industrial revolution.
They were far superior to cow leather.  All the factories, used them for the drive belts for their machinery.
