OK i hate to sound stupid but was wondering if i could get some opinions i cut me a sapling today and i think it is elm but not 100% sure the leaves look like elm but the bark is slightly deferent from the big elms behind my house that i know are elms i think it is a little different because it is a sapling here are a few picks was wanting more opinions to make sure i am right

Yeah, that looks like elm. There are quite a few different species, but most all are probably good bow wood.

American elm. Just split out a 12"dia. one that hadn't been taken by DED yet. Gotta love that interlocking grain
