Got your well done weapon bookmarked for April Self Bow of the Month. We'll be busy this weekend.

Finished off the tips with Maple Bark.  Saved the bark off of some staves that I skinned.  Seized the inside of the bark with TBII, and pressed flat to dry.

I only count the shooters.

you can't argue with results, but looking at the pictures it looks like the edges are still really square. really square edges are more likely to lift a splinter,it just makes me nervous. i like to round the corners to about the radius of a pea.

great looking bow though, much better than my 3rd attempt.

Great looking bow ! I love the tips, I would round the corners some more too, if it was mine.

nice bow! I only count shooters, or those who had actually shot, but broke later. I don't call staves a bow before they've been shot ;)
makes it your 2nd bow, in this case. And a pretty one! especially with those 'new' tips.

Thanks for all the comments.  200 or so shots through, and it's taken maybe 1/2" of set.  Hits where I look, just have to get better at ranging distance, and get feathers on my arrows :D

I'm sorry to have to ask this, but being in law enforcement, I have to. Is squirrel season open? Was that an illegally killed game animal?

Honest officer,It was self defense ! He charged and.......(Them squirrels can get pretty squirrelly) I used to shoot them (.22 shorts) out of my uncles pecan tree's for him down in south carolina,he gave me $.50 apiece (Bounty) and let me keep the squirrel's. He was in law enforcement too.Small world,eh ! ? Where do you live ? Are you a primitive archer ?  Make bows or arrows ? Ever made a bow outta Maple ?  Just the facts, sir  Can I see your badge ?    Squirrel's scarce around your parts ?   Frank
