I picked some red oak boards up last night- nice straight grain, good for a couple bows. However, the MC is about 7%. I've had a number of failures before from boards like these at the fades (the wood jsut delaminated at a point and gave out). Is there anything I can do to "rehumidify" the baords? I sore I read somehting about it in the TBB, but I can't find it, and my father says that kiln dired wood can't be.
There are a few steps I know of for working around it (after the many failures), but I'd prefer to be using a piece with an 9-10% MC.
