Greg, if you make the bow bend through the handle slightly I think you could get away with a width of 1 1/4" with yew.

Yeah, definatly what Gordon says, ......I just kept it real wide because of the extreme weight I was hoping to get out of it.

Thanks Gordon and Manny, I pull more like 60# at 27'', It seems to be more that enough to bring down an elk.
