Haro,
Ok, well this is one of several bow I make now. These are made from very good wood supplied by Richard, grain was quite straight and clear, easy to plane. Thank you for the really nice wood! Also, density was quite nice as I never use this dense wood as bow, only small items. I am really surprise by its stiffness and compressive strength, very nice wood indeed.I think its a bit heavy, but thats from the extra length I give it~the draw is smooth for that and it seems accurate. I ended with about 50#@26", though it easy can pull to 28". It seems to shoot quite flat out to 65 meters, 100 yards easily with maybe 25 degree angle shot.
Bamboo back is 3 mm thick, ebony tip overlay and accent in handle.
179 cm long and little over 29 mm wide at handle. Tips are 11 mm wide.
It has 1 inch reflex at rest, glued in 1.5" so I guess not bad~belly is round. maybe straight after long shooting, but it always return to 1" reflex...
Oh, finish is shellac from China, it seems quite good quality, I use 4 coats with wet sanding inbetween of 2000 grit.....maybe needs more coatings.
