A bit of spine help....
« on: April 13, 2009, 10:37:15 am »
All-

Need a bit of help choosing spine!

I shoot a self bow that pulls 60# at my 24" draw.

The handle is 1" wide.

I make my arrows for a 28" draw (I like the extra length).

I shoot 125 grain heads and plan on shooting either laminated birch or ash shafts this year....

What spine do you think would work best?
Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder's eye on the Last Day.

You could go with the 50/55# if you use a rear nock taper. Sand the higher spined shafts down to the lower spines for a closer matched set. It would be handy to have some 145gr points on hand to lower spine if needed. You'll have no problem with increasing spine with your short draw (my length also). Keep your arrows  at that 28" bop also.
