Question on wood

I think it's Maple, but I've never seen it turn orange.  Can anyone identify it?

from what i can see it looks like ash to me
theres one that looks just  like that in my neighbors yard

i think what is turning orange is the cambium after being exposed to air.
ive seen that on apple and sumac
kinda like whn ya take a bite out of an apple and leave it sit

Yeah, that sure looks like maple. Sailordad hit it onthe head, cambium does that sometimes.

I'd say maple.
Mulberry is more golden/yellow, and is ring porous, while this wood is diffuse porous.
Ash is also ring porous, which I don't see in this wood.

The yellow color that appears, is only in the bark, right? If so, it's just oxidation. The wood itself should keep it's white color.
