Also, what is thickness of power lamination? I seem not have right thickness as my handles still pop off...

Thanks Far east archer. He used urac for the glue and the power lam is about 1/4" or so in the middle. The rit dye seemed to work good for me. Ive heard alcohol based leather dye works really well but I didn't have any. I would think colored ink would work good also. The india ink worked well.
Rich I couldn't tell what you meant before. I thought maybe there was some problem with the lighter stuff. It sure is some heavy wood. That's one cool thing about ipe. Like you said there are 100 subspecies so there might be a few surprises out there. This stuff has light streaks as well as a lot of short black streaks in it and the dust was not the yellow stuff but it smells the same

I brought it down to the range today and shot it through the crono for fun and I was getting 183 fps with 10gpp Didn't help my aim though. Im still a lousy shot

That is a very inspiring job. Congrats on the tiller. I recently bought a blank from David Knight and I look forward to starting the tillering process this weekend. I appreciate all the excellent photos you've posted.
