BBI from KnightD ( not for BOM )
« on: April 07, 2009, 06:02:04 pm »
I love free stuff! Especially bows ;D
This is a little Boo backed Ipe bow I finished from a blank David Knight sent me.  All I had to do was glue on tip overlays, shape the handle and touch up the tiller a little.   The tiller didn't really need much touching up. Just a couple scrapes on the top limb and it was done!
 It's 58" NTN and draws 43# @27"
The handle, as well as the tips are a combination of osage and King wood.
I dyed the bamboo black and finished it with a base coat of lacquer sand and sealer covered with spray poly.

This little darling draws and shoots as sweet as any bow I've ever had in my hands. It's no slouch in the speed department either. I was consistantly putting a 436 grain arrow through my chrony at 170 fps.  With power like that, I wouldn't hesitate to hunt deer with it at all.

Thank you David.  I'm sure I'll have lots of fun shooting it. ;)

Dang you did a fine job on that one ! I really like those tips and the dye job.. With the quality of workmanship that you do It could have been a boat oar that I sent and it would have turned out just as nice. ;)
Again great job..

I like that, she's got a great shape at full draw. The contrast in the woods is nice too.

KnightD......hey, buddy, i hate to be the one to break this to you, but you built that bow left-handed.  Dang........
 :) :) :) :) :) :)
Except for that, it is one beautiful piece of work.  Very cool, "minimalist" sort of handle.  Real visual appeal, and I'll bet it does shoot nice.

Thanks a bunch fellas.
Piper, I started shooting left handed a few months ago. I was racing with the timer on the camera and old habits die hard. :-[

That is sweet!  I'm sure if you shot it right handed you would still be on target ;) Great work guys...
