Hi all,
finally I managed to get the laburnum bow finished.
It's 64"ntn and draws 53#@28"
I spliced two billets of home-garden grown laburnum, the handle riser is cherry and the bow is backed with watersnake skin.
After tillering and some shooting, the reflex is mostly gone.
After having worked with that wood, I think that its physical qualities are as good as osage. It sure looks better
For me, Laburnum is probably the best locally growing bowwood.
It seems a bit harder than osage but is similar workable. Probably as "brittle".
