I was thinking about trying a hackberry stave and was wondering about your opions on this wood,appreciate any information.

Hackberry is fine wood,treat it a lot like Hickory as far as lay out and tiller slow,it can go away pretty quick from my experience. I have made some nice bows from it.It is light and works very nice. :)
