Jesse's cane arrow's
« on: February 24, 2009, 08:34:23 am »
Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures...I think I had my camera on portrait mode, and except for a couple of closeup's of the points, the focus was poor. I'll try to post some better one's later, didn't know these were so bad and I'm posting at work not home.

The three short arrow's with points will be put on trophie's for the Self Bow Challenge at the Tn. Classic. I think Jesse made the points. The other cane arrow's are for Jesse who is currently in Afganistan. Six of the cane are Tn. Red River cane, while the other six are tonkin cane. I put hardwood dowels in the river cane nock end for support. The tonkin didn't need it as it is almost solid core. The feather's are wrapped on the ends with sinew, although first glued on. I wrapped sinew just below the nock's of all arrows for added support. Sanded the nodes down close to even with the rest of the shaft. The arrow's are sealed with tru-oil. Not the most primitive, but Jesse said to make them like the one's I hunted with last year. Again, sorry for the poor picture quality! :)

Pat, Jesse can't help if a deer loses the arrow while running off with a double lung shot!  ;D

Totally awsome Greg and I am sure Jessie will be very careful what he shoots with them. You just got to love those cane arrows.    Kenneth
