Board Bow 1st

I just finished a board bow and it took about 2" of set, I wasn't too impressed with the cast and was wondering if I could do anything at this point to increase it. It is 58"ntn for a 24" draw if that matters.

You could do a few things to help it out hard to say whats best without a picture though.  These assume your tiller is dead on.

1. Flip the tips use boil, steam, or dry heat reflex into them.
2. sinew it
3. maybe you tips are two wide shave em down a bit
4. chop an inch off each end
5. lastly leave it alone and make another even better! ;D

I'd take a look at those tips and see if they're less than 1/2" wide, otherwise, scrape some off.
then make another one :)

At 58" it is probably too short for your first bow. Two inches of set isn't all that bad. There are things you can try but why not start another. Go a bit longer(68") and take your time with the tillering process.
   As adb said, pics are a big help for us.

I think I will just leave it alone then. I have a vine maple stave that I am going to start working on though!
