First bows
« on: February 15, 2009, 11:24:18 pm »
Here are a few of the bows I have made so far this year. New to archery although tried it a bit when I was a kid.
All hickory with mahogany handles. Recurves steambent. All pretty light weight. The kid's bow only pulls 12 lbs at 16 inches. The strongest is around 24 lbs at 28 inches.

Here are a couple of pictures of two of my bows drawn. One is a longbow with a 64 inch nock to nock (braced) length. (draws 28 inch; only pulls a little over 20 lbs.) The other is the small recurve which only draws a shorter arrow. Also lightweight.
