dont you guys like a backing on a wood that is so suceptibale of chrisal crush i made a flat bow of 65 "l 2"wide to middle taper to 1!2 but the sturgeon back allows to pull longerdraw wo out cc on belly no check lines i think neutral plane moved with tb2 and tough fish skin

If designed, seasoned and tillered carefully there's no reason for black locust to fret with or with out a backing.
I seriously doubt a fish skin backing would have any effect on the bows belly anyways. Sinew maybe.....

I always thought a heavy backing would cause worse crysals and frets.
I do think Ryan is right, a fish skin isn't going to make a huge difference to the belly. Justin

The only troubles I've had with locust chrysaling is when I did a sloppy tillering job and hinged it, especially when I made the limbs wide and thin.

Good comments above. I'm not being a wise guy but I do think there are regional differences to BL. Northern BL is good stuff. I've had more ash chrysal than BL. Jawge
