This is a Hickory Flatbow from a stave. It's 65" ntn 1 3/4 wide limbs tapering down to 0,5 mm.

Very nice bow. Really like the simplicity of the tips. Bookmarked for February Self BOM, too.

That bow looks great. I like the dye job also. Your a braver man than me the way you cut the knock into the back of the bow :o

Cutting the nocks into Hickory is not a brave job - Hickory is able to handle such a penetration. I won't do that on another wood.

Beautiful bow, I love the simplicity and the dye job. I agree with Jesse I wouldn't have the nerve to cut the knocks into it like that.

Great looking bow. I wouldn't trust the back-cut nocks at that draw weight either, but looks like they're holding up. Bet it's a sweet shooter, good job.

Beautiful bow, but I'm with the rest on the nock's...and we've made a lot of hickory bows ourselves! You can still easily inlay those tips if you'd like. I really like all other aspects of the bow other then violating the back on the tip grooves.  :)

Great bow! It's attractive and the tiller is excellent. The nocks, well, I never do that.  Yes, hickoy is string. But, a friend did that  with osage and the result was bad in that the tip snapped at the nock. He ended up putting on an overlay. Jawge
