Sanding Rawhide
« on: January 26, 2009, 09:57:47 pm »
I'm getting ready to rawhide back my sons bow with a piece of deer rawhide.  It is a really small hickory "board" bow.  I want to back it just as a safety measure.  Should I thin the rawhide by sanding before or after backing.  The piece I have is less than 1/16".  Thanks for any information.

If it's less than 1/16" it probably doesn't need thinning.
