New hunting arrows

These are hunting arrows I just put together. Port Orford shafts with 5" true flight feathers. Stained with charcoal and grey bark and hand rubbed 2 coats of satin poly. Crested with Testors enamel model paint.  Ave weight is 560 grain with 125 grain points. They aren't primitive but my cresting lathe is. :) It gets the job done for aout a hundred bucks less than a real one. These arrows are really dull but the fl. lime makes them easier to find if I ever actually need to track something. Thanks

They look nice to me and would look even better in my quiver ;D

I like your cresting lathe, how about a close up picture of the thingy that holds the nock end?

 Dana, the nock end is held by a peice of 3/8 rubber tubing stuck onto a magnetic chuck for screwdriver bits.

 Nice arrows. You did a really good job on them.  I love the cresting lathe.  That is the best idea I have seen in a while.

Thanks Rick, Pappy, and Frank. I don't know who I copied this lathe idea from but someone on this site made something like this one. I just "built" it out of whatever I could scrounge up in the basement. It works great. :)
