If you're talking about 450 plus...single strand breaking strength is 155lbs.

Kegan....the best I can come up with is 95 pounds per Strand

Brownell Fast Flite + Less Creep Bowstring Material is Stronger than steel, fast flite offers the greatest arrow speed 5 to 12 feet per second and durability with reports of 30,000 shots. Fast Flite Plus has a breaking strength of 95 lbs. with a diameter of .015

Brownell 450 Plus is 155 pounds

Thank you! So a 14 strand string would survive on an 80# longbow (well, tough on the figners and both arrow and bow nocks...)?

I am not sure how they measure this breaking strength. I have used my bow scale and pull broken various string making fibers. My results were about 20% of the listed break point. FF was in the 25-28# range, B-50 was about 18#, TS-1 at 30+#. FF is smaller diameter than B-50 and noticeably stronger with less stretch. TS-1 is smaller diameter yet and is low stretch with a "smoother" feel to me.  I mostly use TS-1
