two kills strikes again....
« on: January 18, 2009, 09:33:04 pm »
went hunting today with Wolf watcher and the boys...Josiah Aka (Two Kills)  shot two bunnies with his selfbow... Watcher and I shot the rest with our Marc St louis bows and I also shot my Red HawK bow a snakey osage selfbow... sharing the wild places with my boys and good friends is truly a wonderful thing. ;D plus we have enough bunny backstrap for a rabbit fry ;D ;D ;D... Mighty fine hunting there! I know a lot of rabbit hunters here in Tn. that would be happy with that harvest using shotguns and dogs. ;)

Fun for the ancients as well.  Still can't believe how Josiah can be so accurate with a bow he can't pull!!!  I would say his technique is jerk and launch!! :) :)  The only reason he only killed two rabbits is that several of his arrows bounced off!!! :'( :'( :'(  Mike's other son, Tyler, had broken his glasses and did not shoot or we would have had twice as many bunnies.  Now to be honest,  O:) O:)  The only bunnie I harvested was the one I am holding!  Hawk Huston, as usual, shot all the rest!!!  He used three different bows.  Wish you all could hunt with the Huston's.  We had a chili and home made bread lunch thanks to Stacy.  She hunted with her camera!  Thanks to Whitewoodshunter, Josiah's draw problem will come to an end soon!!  Watcher

After reading that post, it sounded like Hawk had shot all the rabbits.  I shot one, and Josiah shot two of them and Hawk shot the rest!  That family won't go hungry as long as they don't run out of arrows.  Watcher

Great hunt, are those jack rabbits, the ears look pretty long. Some of their body's look big anuff for a small child's quiver. Do you do anything with the skins.

Way to go Josiah!  You too hawkbow and wolfwatcher!  It's a lot of fun sharing hunts with relatives.  My younger brother and I went with both of my boys a few weeks ago, and it was a special time.  Congratulations! :)

we don't use the skins .. unfortunately they are to thin to effectively brain tan... and my wife is a licensed falconer so the parts we don't eat go to her redtail hawk ... Hawk a/ho
