Awesome primitive arrows there Hillbilly!  Is that pine pitch mixed with charcoal or is it pine tar?

Thanks, Patrick. It's pine/spruce resin mixed with ground charcoal.

Those are beauties.  Are the feathers on the lower one tail feathers?

Thanks, Rick. Yep, those are tail feathers. They work great for the two-fletch style, nice and flat.

Here are a few modern arrows that I made, well, what is left of the set.  Poplar dowels, modern feathers red leather dye.

The whole set spined at 40 - 45 pounds.  I used modern glue and fly line backing to tie them one.

Here are some neo modern.  Red oak dowels, barrel tapered, with a mix of real and atrificial sinew, self knocks, modern tips.

They all spined in at 50# and weigh from 520 to 545 grains.

OK, here is another set of neo modern.  I sanded some bamboo down to spine 50 to 55# and the weight ranges from 520 - 580 grains.  They have modern aluminum insert glued in.  I used real and artificial sinew, one has an antler tip and all have self knocks.

I think now I am going to work on some primitives.

These are a set of 4 modern Flu-Flus for roving made from northern pine shafts of a 75# spine, fluorecent yellow feathers combined wild turkey feathers and the most traditional plastic nocks I could find  ;D ;D ;D ; hope you like them anyway, they do fly very good!

F.

Lots of nice primitive arrows here; if we do that again, I might post primitives, too...

Thanks David!!  Just in time......those arrows are awesome.

OK, voting starts today.  Send votes via email to Mullet (Eddie Parker).

If you already have a favorite, by all means vote now.  Be sure to include the reply# and the category (primitive, neo-primitive, or modern).

I'll compose a list tonight (hopefully) and leave the voting open all weekend.

Voting ends Sunday night.
