new knife and a couple points
« on: January 09, 2009, 12:54:21 pm »
this was last night work, while watching that horrible national championship game.  I am a Seminoles fan all the way ever since i was  a little kid, We noles fans hate seeing the Gators do good, so I was a sooner last night .lol
all out of dacite. and all done with abo tools. elk antler billet and deer tines. i was making a nice blade for a knife and popped it in half and used the busted piece to make the barbed point.  the corner notched point pleased me to finish and i was happy to get it notched so far with only abo tools.  then at half time i chipped out the blade for the knife and set it in the antler during the 3rd quarter and then finished the whole thing up first thing this am.  the butt end is a piece of black walnut left over from the little walnut recurve i made back in november.   thanks for looking- Ryan

Nice work Ryan.  Wow, all that work during a football game?  That's a whole weekend's worth of effort from me.

I'm a OSU Cowboy fan but had to root for the Sooners last night.  That was a bummer of a game.

That is some nice work Ryan! And wow, all done during a ball game - sounds like you were on the ball ;D.

Those turned out really nice. I like the end cap of wood against the antler handle for the knife.
